Playing in the Park

This past Saturday, we drove out into the middle of nowhere to play for a little music festival. We were asked to play last because we were considered one of the better bands, but unfortunately, most of the people who came for the day didn't know that. So, there were only about 40 people left by the time we got there. Matt, Adam and I were joined by Laura Tew on the djimbe and our wonderful female vocalist Ana. We resigned ourselves to the fact that there was nobody there and thought that it would at least be good practice for this Friday's CD release party. . .

But we didn't let that get us down. We did what we came to do: worship God and by God's grace help others to draw closer to him. And you know what? That's exactly what happened! It filled my heart with joy to see a small group of people dancing and standing with their arms outstretched towards the open sky. Even though they were at least a hundred feet away, it was easy to see that they were worshiping God. One lady told us afterwards that she had been struggling with a headache for a whole week and it had just gone away. Praise God!
